AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that defies conventional predictions, the game developer has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Disclosed
According to the formal statement, "An unusual meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of banned ceremonies and monstrous changes echo through the darkness." The plot features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a hidden group.
The questline centers on "bizarre tests and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a striking scene showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with numerous items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
